Hank completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Florida (UNF) earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He then pursued further education at Troy University, where he obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration. During his time at UNF, Hank’s leadership skills were recognized when he was elected as the Student Body President. As President, he was honored to serve on the UNF Board of Trustees.
Having spent nearly twenty-five years in the River City, Hank has made it his home! He was born and raised in Miami, Florida, and attended local public schools. After graduating from college in 2003, he began his career as an assistant in the Florida House of Representatives. However, he eventually decided to shift his focus towards mentoring the next generation and joined the I’m A Star Foundation, Inc., where he currently holds the position of Chief Operating Officer.
In addition to his work with the foundation, Hank has made a significant impact in various roles. He spent several years as a substitute teacher and dedicated over five years as a Guardian Ad Litem, advocating for the voiceless children within the foster care system.
Hank is devoted to giving back to his community and actively serves on several boards, including the Northeast Florida Community Action Agency, the Sales Surtax Oversight Committee, Jacksonville Housing Authority, and the Jacksonville Branch NAACP.
He is also a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakland and Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc.
Hank’s passion for public service extends beyond his local community.
He has actively participated in successful national, state, and local campaigns, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive difference.
His hard work and dedication have been recognized through numerous awards and accolades.
